Part of the reasoning for our development was reintroducing a neighborhood that previously existed here within the heart of the capital. With the development of Union Station, there was great loss of urban development that created an under used site with great potential. Reintroducing an urban neighborhood will begin to address issues like the housing crisis around DC and aid in restoring activity to an underutilized area. As you can see here to the left is the conditions of the neighborhood before Union Station, followed by the current conditions which features a wide open space, largely undeveloped and with little urban conditions. We are proposing a revival of the previous urban neighborhood with a special consideration placed on bringing life and activity back into the site and negotiating the wide range of building sizes and scale.
