Waterfront Townhouse

With the intent of restoring a sense of place and local character to the rapidly-evolving city of Mumbai, a pressing design challenge was to create commodious housing with a true Indian identity. Inspired by the dilapidated townhouses of the Bora Bazzar neighborhood in central Mumbai, I wanted to carry the torch of employing decadent Indian arches, Indian columnar orders, and jali (window screens) to passively cool interior spaces.
